Ipoh Lou Yau Bean Sprouts Chicken

Ipoh Lou Yau Bean Sprouts Chicken @ Centrepoint

Tried this stall located at level 1 of centrepoint (at the food/cafe wing).

We ordered the chicken rice set and the soup kway teow set.  The chicken was served with quite a lot of bean sprouts.  The bean sprouts were pretty juicy and the chicken tasted ok.  We were served with chicken wings but it was very badly cut up.  The chicken bones are in bits and pieces, making it very troublesome to eat.

Also ordered a plate of lu wei with egg, tau pok and tau kua.  It tasted so-so, nothing fantastic.

Hong Kong Cafe

Hong Kong Cafe @ Vivocity on 26 Oct

It was a public holiday and Vivocity was packed with people.  Super long zigzag queue for the Sentosa Express.  Trying to find a place that was not so crowded for lunch.  Finally, ate at the Hong Kong Cafe at basement.

Carnivore

Carnivore @ MBS

My wife celebrated my birthday with a lunch treat at the Carnivore @ MBS.  It's a buffet with 9 types of meat cut.  We have honey baked ham, sausage, grilled small chicken thigh, pork, fish and pineapple. They will serve you with the cuts right infront of you.  All  the meat are very nicely done and tender.  I like the chicken thigh which is very tender and juicy.  Can ask for 2 portions straightaway.  There are also beef and lamb but we don't take them.

Other than the meat cuts, there is also a buffet counter with some salads, vegetables and soup!  It costs $34++ for lunch.  Like it!

Bah Ku Teh @ Midview City

Tung Lok Seafood

Tunglok Seafood @ Orchard Central on 5 Oct

The Chilli crab was a bit more spicy and the gravy is kind of different from that of No Signboard.  It was still quite delicious and the crab meat was very fresh!  Also ordered a Toufu and fried silver fish.

Coffee Club at Bugis Junction

Tried our lunch at Coffee Club at Bugis junction.  I ordered a sandwich!  It was huge and surprisingly good!  Never tasted such nice sandwich before.  The bread was toasted, crispy and with a nice aroma!

Rangoon Road Bah Ku Teh

Lunch @ Rangoon Road Bah Ku Teh

Had our lunch on a Sunday afternoon (12 Aug) at the Ah Sio Bah Ku Teh along Rangoon Road.  The whole eating place was packed and full.  Luckily, we managed to get a shared table for 2 pax.  The soup was pretty nice and meat very tender.  Just that the price is slightly on the high side. Had a fufilling lunch!

PappaMia @ Airport T1

PappaMia @ Airport T1

Changi Airport T1 has just completed its renovation.  All the restaurants were pretty crowded on a Sunday evening.  Decided to give this PappaMia a try whereby the dishes are mainly cooked in Ipoh style!  Simple dishes but was very tasty and delicious!  Like the laksa!  The price is about $6 to $7!  worth it!

BottleTree (Khatib)

BottleTree (Khatib) on 29 July

Decided to have crab for lunch on a Sunday afternoon but don't wish to travel far to town.. so we decided to try out the BottleTree Restaurant at Khatib area.

The restaurant was pretty empty except for a few big occupied tables.  We ordered Chilli Crab and a Toufu dish.  Was quite disappointed with the chilli crab, although the crab meat was fresh.  The chilli gravy was not fantastic at all and contains plenty of chilli seeds.  Don't like it!

Aston Prime

Aston Prime @ Centrepoint on 27 July

Had our lunch on a Friday afternoon at Aston Prime at Centrepoint.  We ordered a Halibut fish steak and a Salmon steak.  The price at Aston Prime is slightly more expensive than other Aston stalls.  But it's worth the price as the fish are both very fresh and nicely done!

Hangora @ MBS

Lunch at Hangora @ MBS

Hangora is a Korean Restaurant at Marina Bay Sands.  We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch.  The restaurant was not crowded at all.  Luckily, the food was good.

They came with a starter of 4 dishes.  Typical Korean cold dishes such as Kimchi.  I finished up the vegetable and the bean curd starters.  We ordered a seafood soybean soup (with rice) and a fried mackerel fish (with rice).  Both the dishes are very nice.  The fried fish was done to perfection.

This restaurant is also in the list of the UOB-MBS credit card promotion whereby you spent minimum $20 dollars and can get 6 hours of free parking.  Plus the UOB card gave us 20% discount.  All in all, we spent $34 for the 2 dishes.

Crystal Jade

Crystal Jade @ Junction 8

Dinner at Crystal Jade on 18 May.  As usual, pretty good standard from crystal jade.  Ordered 3 dishes, sea cucumber, fried beans and the 2 types of meat platter (soy chicken and chao shao).  My first time ordering the meat platter and it was good.  The chicken was very soft and tender!  But it was pretty expensive.  $15 for the small plate of meat platter!

Town Restaurant

Town Restaurant @ Fullerton

The Town Restaurant @ Fullerton Hotel is offering this Local High Tea Buffet Lunch every saturday from 12pm to 3pm.  We happened to have a pair of complimentary voucher for 2 high tea bffet from our previous hotel stay!  The high tea cost $32++ per pax.

The spread was pretty good.. ranging from laksa, mee siam, yong tau fu, roti prata , poh piah and several cooked dishes such as fish, curry chicken.  There's also a salad bar and sushi.  And there's a DIY station for rojak.

the desserts and fruits selection was pretty good too.  though we didn't take a lot of the desserts.. it's mostly those type of nonya cakes...
