Hangora @ MBS

Lunch at Hangora @ MBS

Hangora is a Korean Restaurant at Marina Bay Sands.  We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch.  The restaurant was not crowded at all.  Luckily, the food was good.

They came with a starter of 4 dishes.  Typical Korean cold dishes such as Kimchi.  I finished up the vegetable and the bean curd starters.  We ordered a seafood soybean soup (with rice) and a fried mackerel fish (with rice).  Both the dishes are very nice.  The fried fish was done to perfection.

This restaurant is also in the list of the UOB-MBS credit card promotion whereby you spent minimum $20 dollars and can get 6 hours of free parking.  Plus the UOB card gave us 20% discount.  All in all, we spent $34 for the 2 dishes.

Crystal Jade

Crystal Jade @ Junction 8

Dinner at Crystal Jade on 18 May.  As usual, pretty good standard from crystal jade.  Ordered 3 dishes, sea cucumber, fried beans and the 2 types of meat platter (soy chicken and chao shao).  My first time ordering the meat platter and it was good.  The chicken was very soft and tender!  But it was pretty expensive.  $15 for the small plate of meat platter!

Town Restaurant

Town Restaurant @ Fullerton

The Town Restaurant @ Fullerton Hotel is offering this Local High Tea Buffet Lunch every saturday from 12pm to 3pm.  We happened to have a pair of complimentary voucher for 2 high tea bffet from our previous hotel stay!  The high tea cost $32++ per pax.

The spread was pretty good.. ranging from laksa, mee siam, yong tau fu, roti prata , poh piah and several cooked dishes such as fish, curry chicken.  There's also a salad bar and sushi.  And there's a DIY station for rojak.

the desserts and fruits selection was pretty good too.  though we didn't take a lot of the desserts.. it's mostly those type of nonya cakes...

Paradise Dynasty @ ION Orchard

Lunch at Paradise Dynasty @ ION Orchard

Had lunch at the Paradise Dynasty @ ION Orchard on 7 May (Sun).  We were there slightly before 12pm and surprisingly there was already quite a queue number to wait.  We waited for 15 mins to get a seat!

Luckily, the food did not disappoint us! We had the standard Xiao Long Bao.  Yummy!

And shared a Fried Pork Rib La Mian.  The lamian and soup base is delicious.  Although the pork rib is slightly tougher, it's very fragrant with the fried garlic and herbs!

Rama Thai @ Bishan

Rama Thai @ Bishan

Discovered this small Rama Thai eatery tucked at one corner of Bishan Central.  Near to the POSB bank.  Surprisingly, the dishes were quite well done and tasty.  But just think that the price is slightly high for a shop in the neighbourhood.  Nevertheless still worth trying.  Environment is also quite okie and spacious!

Boon Tong Kee

Boon Tong Kee @ AMK

Tried this relatively new Boon Tong Kee Restaurant at AMK Blk 233, along amk street 22 on a Sunday Lunch.  This is opposite to the Melben Crab restaurant at block 232.

The dishes were very nice.  Ordered the fried bittergourd with salted egg.  It's very nicely done and fragrant.  The winter melon soup was clear and very delicious too.

Need to be at this place early as the carpark can be quite full.  Especially during evening time and weekends.  Many cars flocked there for the Melben Crab.

Tung Lok classics

Tung Lok Classics @ Chinese Swimming Club

Tried the weekday Dim Sum Buffet Lunch at Tung Lok Classics.  The buffet consists of a soup, noodles, unlimited dim sum and one test tube juice. Each set cost $24.90.  Not worth trying at all.

We started off with the soup and it was pretty nice.  However, the rest of the dim sum was really so-so only with some of them of no standard at all.  The xiao long bao skin looks very crumpled up and not tasty at all.

The service of the staffs was not to the standard that I have experienced from other Tung Lok restaurants. No smiles and not friendly at all.  They just put on a "serious" face and go about serving.

Luckily, we finish off with the test tube juice which is quite refreshing!
